What 1avance can do for you
The easiest way to understand an AI assistant is to follow it through an ordinary day. Here is how 1avance can help from breakfast to bedtime, with prompts you can try right now, followed by an honest list of its limits.
7:30 am: a quick news briefing
Because 1avance can search the web, it is not stuck with what it learned during training. Ask for the headlines and you get a short summary with numbered sources you can open.
Give me a five-point briefing on today's top world news, one sentence each, with sources.
Try this promptIt works for narrower topics too: the latest on an election, a product launch, last night's match or this week's interest rate decision.
9:00 am: work that would otherwise eat your morning
Drafting is where an assistant saves the most time. Status updates, meeting agendas, job descriptions, polite refusals, product descriptions: give it the facts and it gives you a clean first draft.
Turn these notes into a short status update for my manager: migration 80 percent done, two bugs found in billing, testing delayed by two days, need a decision on the new vendor by Friday.
Try this promptIt also works the other way round. Paste a long text and ask for the key points, the action items or the questions it leaves unanswered.
12:30 pm: understanding something new
Stuck on a concept from a podcast, a contract clause or a chart in a report? Ask for an explanation at your level, then ask again differently if it does not click.
Explain what an index fund is to someone who has never invested, using a grocery shopping analogy, in under 120 words.
Try this prompt4:00 pm: numbers and decisions
Comparing two phone plans, working out a tip, converting a recipe from cups to grams, checking whether a subscription is worth it: the assistant shows its reasoning step by step so you can follow and verify it.
Plan A costs 25 dollars a month with 10 GB of data. Plan B costs 180 dollars a year with 6 GB. I use about 7 GB a month. Which is cheaper over a year, and is the data enough?
Try this prompt6:30 pm: dinner from what is in the fridge
List what you have and how much time you have. You will get recipe ideas that use those ingredients instead of a shopping list for things you do not own.
I have chicken thighs, half a bag of spinach, rice, a lemon and garlic. Suggest two dinners I can make in 30 minutes.
Try this prompt8:00 pm: planning the weekend or the next trip
From a weekend in the countryside to two weeks abroad, the assistant can draft an itinerary, a budget and a packing list. The trip planning guide explains how to get the most out of it.
9:30 pm: a little code or a spreadsheet formula
1avance can write and explain short scripts, spreadsheet formulas and regular expressions, and help you read an error message.
Write a Google Sheets formula that adds up column C only for rows where column A says "Paid".
Try this promptIt remembers what matters to you
If you tell 1avance something lasting, such as your name, your job or that you prefer short answers, it can remember it and use it in later conversations. Everything it remembers is listed on the My account page, where you can delete any item. With a free account, that memory follows you across devices.
What it cannot do
- It cannot see images or open attached files. Paste the text you want it to work on.
- It can make mistakes, especially with precise figures and niche topics. Check anything important.
- It does not replace a doctor, lawyer or financial adviser.
- It cannot take actions for you: it will not send emails, book tickets or make payments.
